Scented Candle Safety Instructions
It is important to consider safety when lighting a candle
- A scented candle should not burn for longer than 3-4 hours at a time. Natural waxes are soft waxes and melt at around 55 degrees Celsius. When the wax has melted more than 1-2 centimeters, it's time to extinguish the candle.
- Candles in small glass containers have a higher risk of overheating and should not burn for more than 2-3 hours at a time.
- If the candle starts burning with a strong flame, the wick is likely too long. Extinguish the candle immediately and let it cool. Then trim the wick to 2-3 mm and re-light the candle.
- A candle placed in a draft will burn with an unsteady flame. Move the candle to a place free from drafts.
- Extinguish the candle when only a few millimeters of wax remain to avoid overheating the glass. An overheated glass risks cracking.
- Candles should never be left unattended. Be especially careful when children and pets are near a lit candle.
- Candles should not be placed in groups as there is a risk of overheating.
- Avoid moving a burning candle.
- If you accidentally spill wax on a surface, wipe it off immediately with a soft cloth.
- Don't forget to extinguish your candle if it's not supervised.
